2026 Mississippi Hoop Report All-State Team
Coach of the year: Daren Coffey-Calhoun City
In his 26th year at Calhoun City, and after numerous trips to the big house, coach Coffey reached the promised land and bought a state championship trophy to his hometown. In a season where the 1A division was loaded with quality teams, Coach Coffey had his squad ready to play night after night as the Wildcats finished the season on a 15 game winning streak culminating in the championship game win over Leflore County. The 2026 Mississippi Hoop Report coach of the year, Darren Coffey.

Player of the year
Eric Dampier, Jr. 6’10” Sophomore Center Madison-Ridgeland Academy
Stats: 15.9 PPG, 13.1 RPG, 2.7 BPG, 2.7 APG, 1.2 SPG
MAIS 4A player of the year was a dominant force all season leading Madison-Ridgeland Academy to the MAIS 4A and Overall state titles.
Sam Funchess 6’11” Senior Center Germantown
Stats: 20.1 PPG, 10.1 RPG, 3.4 BPG
7A Mr. Basketball, led Germantown to a second straight MHSAA 7A state title game.
Blake Nettles 6’2” Senior Guard Pascagoula
Stats: 18.3 PPG, 6.6 RPG, 3.9 APG, 2.5 SPG
6A Mr. Basketball, led Pascagoula to the MHSAA 6A state title.
Mike Hood 6’4” Senior Forward Columbus
Stats: 15.5 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 1.5 Steals
5A Mr. Basketball, led Columbus to the MHSAA 5A state title.
DeShawn Dillon 6’4” Junior Guard Northwest Rankin
Stats: 17.9 PPG, 5.1 RPG, 1.9 SPG
Mississippi Gatorade Player of the year, led Northwest Rankin to the semi-finals of the MHSAA 7A state tournament.
